Description: Earlier in the year, we had a situation with a student whose anger went from zero - 100 in a millisecond! The student was so angry and out of control with his emotions, it was a little frightening. But it made me think, as our learning community was discussing Crucial Conversations. This student became angry so quickly, I thought his anger and inability to communicate could potentially put him in a dangerous situation.
Analysis: This thinking led me to the idea of creating a class based on Crucial Conversations. It could be part of a life skills class or an English class. Certainly our students would greatly benefit in learning some skills in the art of communication. I have passed my book and idea on to the social worker I work closely with. It is a class I believe worth trying to develop.
Reflection: This is a project I hope to work on over the summer.
